It was another great weekend for BRP and Erick Rudolph. Two
more wins to add to the over 720 Bicknell Racing Products has captured in
2016. Erick put himself in the record
books, being only the second driver to sweep the prestigious event (second to
Danny Johnson).
Even the frigid cold temperatures didn’t stop fans from
packing the stands at Brockville this past weekend. What a show they saw as Erick would leave every fan on the edge of their seats Friday night, coming from deep in the field capturing
the checkered flag in what would be one riveting race for both drivers and
fans.
Erick would battle his way through the field for a vast majority of the
100 lap event, then on lap 97, coming out of turn number 4, would take it to the high side to get around
Carey Terrance for the win. Taking the #62, Bicknell Racing Products Chassis,
Van Raine Construction sponsored machine to victory lane.
To turn around and do it all over again on Saturday in his
family owned ride was nothing short of exceptional.
Erick took advantage of his 6th starting spot in the
100 lap event. Friesen, who started on the outside pole, would jump out to an
early lead over pole sitter Jimmy Phelps.
Rudolph would be the one to watch though as he quickly moved
up through the field. Taking over the 2nd spot by the time lap 20
was in the books.
Rudolph would not stay in 2nd long, as the fast
machine would be the one to beat by lap 27 as Rudolph made a move to the
outside line, swiftly moving past Friesen for the Lead.
Rudolph drove a smart race, making his way to the front
early as the track started to take on rubber by the halfway point. Sheppard
tried several times to get to the bottom of the track and make a move for the
lead however, Rudolph was strong and was able to hold off Sheppard for the win.
On behalf of everyone at Bicknell Racing Products, a big congratulations
to Erick Rudolph on the win, Matt Sheppard, Danny Johnson and Larry Wight on
their outstanding runs, taking home 2nd, 3rd and 5th place finishes.
