Who uses the solid steel motor plate and for what purpose is it used? Educate me please! I have been racing for fifty six years and understand center of gravity height and fore and aft location ..

Hey Ben
The purpose of the steel engine plate is to put weight in a safe place in the race car. Some of the cars need more than 150 pounds of lead weight in them to be legal, so you run out of safe places to physically mount the lead.
