It was a hot NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing
Series at Grandview Speedway last evening. A packed house witnessed Oley PA’s Duane
Howard claim the win in the 30 lap $3000 to win NASCAR 358 Modified feature.
Mike Gular quickly took the lead from his front row starting
position and battled back and forth with John Willman. Howard would move
himself into the second positon by lap nine with Craig VonDohren and Jeff
Strunk quickly on his tail. The leaders hit lap traffic on lap 14 and Howard
quickly closed in Gular. With 10 laps to go, Howard was able to get to the
inside of Gular with VonDohren following closely on the high side of the track.
Howard held on to claim his 10th Thunder on the
Hill Racing Series win leading the Norm Save Station Number 357 to the
checkered flag in the non-stop feature event. Craig VonDohren was second
followed by Mike Gular, Jeff Strunk and Ryan Godown.
