2017 has proven to be a record year for Bicknell Racing Products. The company has expanded in more ways than one from building a record number of chassis to welcoming a number of new customers to their racing family. One of those new customers made a grand entrance last night with a win.
In only his second race behind the wheel of the brand new Bicknell Racing Products Chassis, Mike Mahaney drove the 88 Buzz Chew Racing ride to victory lane last night at Fonda Speedway for "The Jack". A race to honor a legend of the sport, Jack Johnson.
"We couldn't be happier for this team.". Explained Randy Williamson, part of the ownership team at Bicknell Racing Products. "We were all hoping Mike and the team would get a win this season and it was a close one on Sunday at Utice Rome. To do it in only their second race speaks volumes about Mike's abilities as a driver and the teams dedication. They are a great group of people and we are happy to have them be a part of team Bicknell"
Last night during the five thousand dollar to win feature event, Mahaney and Matt Sheppard led the field to green. Sheppard led the field through lap one and continued to build a staggering lead over the field. By the time the first caution came out on lap 13 he had already lapped almost a dozen cars.
On the restart Sheppard would once again jump out to the lead, but Mahaney would stay right with him this time. When the Dendis Companies number nine started into lap traffic again Mahaney took advantage of a slip up from Sheppard, which got him loose and allowed Mahaney to take over the lead. Just about this time Tim Fuller was moving quickly through the field, making his way past Sheppard for second. Fuller tried to reel in Mahaney in the last laps of the race, but the 88 crew proved to on their A game last night.
This year Bicknell Racing Products hit a big milestone. Back in 2004 the Company had a record year building 237 cars. This year that record was broken, building and astounding 242 cars. The company can not thank all of it's customers enough for their unwavering support. Please watch for details about the release of our 2018 cars, coming in the next few weeks.
