After a two day weather delay, mother nature allowed the Super Dirt Car Series to take over Merrittville Speedway last night as part of the Bob St. Amand Sr. 100.

27 cars took the green flag in an action packed event. A big Block and small block made up the front row with Max Mclaughlin pulling number 1 in the redraw and local 358 driver Gary Lindberg pulling starting spot number 2. The two respective drivers would lead the field to green and a bit of contact deep in the field would bring the caution out on lap 1 putting the field back to a complete restart. Once the green would fly again it was all Gary Lindberg.

Lindberg was dominant for the first 60 laps of the race, but a hard charging Eric Rudolph would start to close in on the leader. Rudolph would make his way around McLaughlin for third and a few short laps later would get around Brachmann for second. Rudolph would keep closing the gap, but lap traffic was making it difficult for Rudolph to get a run on Lindberg. With less than 25 laps to go in the 100 lap event Rudolph would be able to clear a group of lap cars and move within striking range of the leader. Out of turn 2 Rudolph flew down the back stretch driving hard underneath Lindberg. They would make  contact near the end of the back straightaway and Rudolph would have to forfeit his battle for the lead to a dominant Gary Lindberg into turn 3. A few laps later Rudolph would set his eyes on the lead again, but this time heading into turn 3, Rudolph would get underneath Lindberg for the lead, but spun around bringing out the caution on lap 81.

Before the caution came out Matt Sheppard was starting to put the 9s into high gear, moving his way into third. Now a sudden turn of events left him on the front row for the restart along side Gary Lindberg. Chad Brachmann would restart third alongside the series point leader Billy Decker. Lindberg would get a great restart but it would not be enough to hold off Sheppard who had been running his own line way on the high side of the race track. It worked well as by lap 90 Sheppard would get around Lindberg to take over the lead and never look back.

Sheppard picked up the $6000 pay out out with Gary Lindberg taking second followed by Billy Decker, Mat Williamson and Chad Brachmann rounding out the top five.
